大河内研究室では2024年11月9日（土）~10日（日）の2日間，横須賀美術館で開催されるイベント『koyart～小屋とアートと地域の新鮮野菜に出会う～』に学生が主体でデザイン，製作した野菜の無人販売所を出展した。本年で4回目の出展である。
当年の作品は，複雑な折り紙構造の開発で知られるアーチスト，科学者ロン・レッシュ（Ronald Dale Resch）が考案したタイリングの一種である，四角形タイルの角が接続して回転するパターンから着想を得て制作した野菜の無人販売所である。一辺425mmの立方体の木製の箱を1ユニットとし，3×3＝9×2層の計18ユニットで構成されており，運搬時にはコンパクトに折りたたまれ，設置時には状況に応じてファジーに展開する。低い木箱は利用者のためのテンポラルな憩いの場としても機能し，集合体から球体を切り抜いた開口部や野菜のカラーリングを引用した塗装などユニークな一面も併せ持つ作品となっている。
The Okochi Laboratory exhibited an unmanned vegetable stand—designed and built primarily by students—at the event “koyart: Encountering Cabins, Art, and Fresh Local Vegetables,” held at the Yokosuka Museum of Art over two days, Saturday, November 9, and Sunday, November 10, 2024. This marked the laboratory’s fourth consecutive year of participation.
This year’s installation was inspired by a type of tiling pattern devised by artist and scientist Ronald Dale Resch, known for his development of complex origami structures. It consists of 18 units arranged in a 3×3 grid across two layers, with each unit being a wooden cube measuring 425 mm on each side. The structure folds compactly for transport and expands flexibly according to the installation environment. The low wooden boxes also function as a temporary resting place for users, and the work features unique elements such as openings created by cutting spheres out of the assembly and paint finishes inspired by the colors of the vegetables.
